It is one of the most egregious forms of modern discrimination. We must now allow them to become a throw-away segment of the population. Like most problems, money is needed to help their concerns, but how could money be better spent? I think it is a travesty how we treat our elderly. We are so consumed with our own petty life that we don't take a few minutes a week to visit the elderly folks in our families. I call my folks once a day and often twice a day. I feel guilty if for some reason I don't. Sometimes the conversation only lasts a couple of minutes, but that's ok.
