Venom

Sink it deep and hard
Push every drop of venom
Into the vein once clean
Now full of spite and poison
Quickly racing to the brain
And to the rushing heart
Seeking the soul
Of its deadly mission
Pain means life hangs
Onto a degraded frame
Black blood now spoils
With eager desire
No antidote for such toxin
So lethally injected
Just a slow wait
For complete system shutdown
Only one secreted hit
From the viperous fangs
Of those once trusted
Changes life in an instant
It poisons wells of affection
And collects in the soul
Where its puddled remains
Remind of substance long ago
Lain deep underground
The host's blighted corpse
Leaks venom to dust
Blowing into a human throat
