Challenging the Sexes on Rock History Trivia -- Quiz Time
I've often joked around about how guys "feel" music in a different manner than women. I know this is a fallacy of generalization; however, the reality is that "the beat" makes girls shake it down so well while the music often hits the inner "soul" of men, who internalize the rhythm. After all, so many more guys than girls become music devotees, music critics, DJs and the like.
My theory extends to musical tastes and genres, too. Show me a woman who knows and roots and grooves of all the mess -- Led Zep, Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry, Ike Turner, Junior Parker, Dylan, Ray Charles, Louis Jordan, Woody Guthrie, etc. and I just might have to fall in love again.
Well, enough of that pseudo-convoluted BS. I'm here to offer a roots rock quiz for the soulful females today. I'd like to see what girls can "think it" like rock writer Dave Marsh instead of "shake it" like Beyonce. Ladies, take the quiz and don't Google. Guys, do the same. Let's see if this dinosaur dig can prove anything at all about the appeal of rock. Report your number correct -- all girls and guys.
