Everything Breaks
Some small and fragile works
Fall victim to strong hands
That violate their rest.
They snap!
And fall in worthless pieces
As they shatter to the ground.
Other common and cheap things
Die quickly from design
That insures they will not last.
They crumble.
And rest in cans of trash
As they await the refuse man.
The strongly formed creations
Pass slowly in good use
That constant strain demands.
They expire.
And lie in honored rest,
As they rust or fade away.
Great wonders of natural design
Cease not before the eyes
That constantly stare in awe.
They disappear.
And satisfy a God
As He changes all born in time.
